Earth 2 #15
Earth 2 #15 was very disappointing. We were promised at the end of the last issue
a good fight. Instead the good guys
going after Steppenwolf are defeated worst yet we learn the story in a bad
flashback. The dialog is terrible. If the good guys were going to lose at least
we could have seen the fight. So that
part of the comic ends after much buildup in a very disappointing cliffhanger as
the world army moves to be destroyed by the three new villains. We then see Hawkgirl captured without
fuss. We then see the fight in Gotham
continue only to be accompanied by dialog that even the writers of the X-Men
would consider bad. The fight is interrupted
by the Red Tornado (one of many robots made apparently). I was rather disappointed by this issue so
much of the old plot lines abandoned so that the heroes could go to war and though
the war buildup story we got was interesting.
But now the creative team is just jumping past this to something
else. So very disappointed.

Earth 2 #14
Earth 2 #14 – I really enjoyed reading this comic. The war with Steppenwolf and the country he
seized. Green Lantern, Doctor Fate and
the Flash attacked first followed by a standoff with a “stealth force” of other
super powered people. They agree to work
together when they are attacked by Steppenwolf’s hounds. There was a very interesting conversation
between Khan and General Foster. Their
talking was a bit of catch up as the Earth 2 storyline jumps ahead and
character development for action. So far
this story continues to entertain.

Earth 2 Annual #1
Earth 2 Annual #1 was good it was entertaining and just
plain fun. While the cover of this issue
has a strange looking Batman (Earth 2 Batman #2?) the real story follows the
Atom. We get an origin story for the
Earth 2 Atom which is kind of interesting and makes him a more interesting and
sympathetic character. We follow him on
a mission to catch a war criminal hiding in a less lawful part of the world. The fight was interesting, but then we move
on to following other heroes. We see
Steel, we see the new Batman and we meet two of the former soldiers of
Steppenwolf. It was all very cool and
interesting it was nice to see some backfilling of the Earth 2 history up to
current events, even with the silly cliffhanger it looks like a story jump is
coming and the creative team used this annual as the bridge. Things are about to get interesting and I am
hoping the creative team does not mess it up.

Earth 2 #12
Earth 2 #12 was good it was a nice entertaining conclusion
to the three part Doctor Fate story. We
get a bit of the story out of order and not because of magic but that is a
minor complaint. Doctor Fate fights
Wotan, while Green Lantern and the Flash keep the world army away from the
fight. They do manage to save the
Flash’s mother. Hawkgirl has a quick
cameo but that was more of a way to introduce Green Lantern into the story
again. Doctor Fate wins the fight even
while arguing with the soul of the original Doctor Fate. The group ends up in Green Lantern’s home
(minus Hawkgirl) in the skyscraper he owns they are planning on what to do next
when breaking news happens. The World
Army has learned Steppenwolf had taken over the country of Dheran war had been
declared and the world was about to attack.

Earth 2!
Earth 2 #8: And Steppenwolf was not returned to his world
when the war was won. This new story arc
could be very interesting. He has Wonder
Woman’s Daughter! Named her Fury and turned her against her own world. We shall see how this turns out.
