Fearless Defenders #7
Fearless Defenders #7
was good and continues the quality you would expect from the Defenders comic
book. Annabelle has received her reward
with an afterlife in Valhalla. Needless
to say she is not happy with the warriors’ heaven. It does turn out that Valkyrie is out looking
for a way to bring Annabelle back to life.
How this all works out it kind of interesting, a spell is cast I could
go on and but really that would just spoil the comic. So just go get yourself a copy and read
it. Needless to say this comic ends with
a to be continued moment.

Fearless Defenders #6
The Fearless Defenders #6 was another excellent issue. We see the completion of the fight against
the Doom Maidens and Valkyrie who had become the Doom Maiden of Rage. But after beating all the other supers it
came down to Annibelle the one without powers to save the day. We all knew that was going to happen but I
was happy to see it was what the writer did.
The end of the issue has a good speech that could easily have been from
the final issue of a series. They are
Defenders and I am really happy I kept reading this comic.

Fearless Defenders #4
Fearless Defenders #4 was good if a bit wordy. The Doom Maidens are risen and getting more
powerful by the moment. Valkyrie is it
turns out a Doom Maiden. They manage to
save Moonstar and they all escape.
Valkyrie has a flashback and proposes a plan of action. While there is not much to say about this
issue it was entertaining and moved the story forward.

Age of Ultron #7
Age of Ultron Book Seven was really good. If it had been an issue of the Fantastic Four
or X-Men (or one of the Wolverine titles) I would have been ecstatic. Instead the story (which ends in a cliff hanger)
has nothing to do with the Ultron story even if the first few pages were Sue
Storm and Wolverine wondering if they had done the right thing or not in
killing Hank Pym. When our heroes return
to the “present” they are attacked by the Defenders seemingly acting much like
the Avengers. It was very interesting to
see the “present” heroes and how they were different from our main timeline
counterparts. Wolverine was still the
stereotypical Wolverine and the Thing along with Dr. Strange seemed normal. But Colonel America (Looks like Nick Fury),
The Hulk (with Bruce Banners Brain) Captain Marvel (Jean Grey?) Cable (Cyclops)
as well as Star-Lord seemed different.
The biggest change seems to be Tony Stark has gone all armor and
protecting us for our own good. I am
interested in seeing how this sub story turns out but would prefer some focus
on the main story.

Fearless Defenders #3!!
The Fearless Defenders #3 is another good issue and
entertaining to boot. Valkyrie, Misty
Knight and Annabelle Riggs are joined by Hela’s chapion Hippolyta. The four of them are sent by the All Mother to
a town to find and stop the Doom Maidens.
Annabelle Riggs has now been promoted to Shield Maiden with interesting
results. They manage to find and rescue
Moonstar, but Hippolyta is taken out of the fight and Valkyrie after breaking
free of the enchantment is recognized by the Doom Maidens (the fallen Valkyrie)
as one of their own. This story gets
more and more interesting as the issues go along. It will be interesting to see where this
story goes.

The Fearless Defenders #2!!!
Fearless Defenders #2 was again an entertaining comic book
continuing where the previous issue had left off. Though the story starts out with the
kidnaping of X-men / New Mutant Moonstar and while she put up a valiant defense
she was captured by normal humans. It
will be hard to believe that she would then be of much use against evil
Asgardian or the undead. Though I
suspect we will find her doing just that in future issues. We then return to following Valkyrie, Misty
Knight and Annabelle Riggs who have traveled to Oklahoma to visit Asgard to
learn about the Death Maidens. It turns
out Valkyrie has been procrastinating in her task to find additional Valkyries
to lead in defense of the universe.
There is much recrimination and then a fight with Hela Queen of the
Underworld of death. This leads to the
final splash page where Hela introduces a new character Warrior Woman or as she
prefers to be called Hippolyta. At this
point I will speculate that since the Valkyrie was tasks with finding new
Warrior women and having found all supers so far lacking. I also notice that so far we have only met
female heroes and gods that this incarnation of the Defenders the Fearless
Defenders will become Valkyries or at least fight under Brunhilde’s
leadership. This could make for some
very interesting storytelling. I wonder
how the writers will mess it up.
