Guardians of the Galaxy #3!
Guardians of the Galaxy #3 was good. We get to see the good guys locked up and
then miraculously escape from the ships brig.
While this was going on there was another conference of Empires and the
other leaders are starting to dislike the King of Spartax. The Guardians of the Galaxy manage to take
control of the Spatax battleship they were held upon. Then Peter Quill sent a message to all
Spartax ships questioning his father’s motives and reminding his people that he
was arrested for protecting the Earth from invasion for trying to do good. This was a very interesting if somewhat
talkative issue. I especially enjoyed
the Spatax soldiers inspecting the Guardians ship.

Guardians of the Galaxy #2 !!!
Guardians
of the Galaxy #2 was good it was basically a fight interspersed with a
flashback. The good guys fight to save
the Earth and specifically London from alien attack. There was also a flashback to a meeting of
powerful people including Peter Quill’s father J-Son of the Royal Conclave of
Spartax where there is a frank discussion of what to do with the Earth. It was kind of cool to see who showed up for
this little shindig lots of powerful leaders.
All of them at one time of the other have invaded attacked or otherwise
messed with the people of Earth the; Supereme Intelligence of the Kree Empire,
Gladator leader of the Shi’ar (Ok they know they are not rulers of the Galaxy)
Young Annihilus leader of the Negative Zone, Queen of the Brood! The All-Mother
of the Asgardians Freyja and Y-Gaaar of the Brotherhood of the Badoon. Back at
the battle I was amused by how the good guys kept trying to contact others on
Earth for help in the fight. I
especially liked the count down on power level of groups they should try to
contact; The Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Defenders then how about the Power
Pack. In the end the heroes win the
battle but are “arrested” for violating the agreement that no one was to land
on the Earth.

Guardians of the Galaxy #1 !!!!
The Guardians of the Galaxy #1 was entertaining. I am a bit annoyed that they brought in Iron
Man (Tony Stark) of all people when it would seem the original cast was wacky
enough without adding Iron Man. The
story starts out well enough with Star-Lord (Peter Quill) hitting on a female
Kree in a bar. They are interrupted when
Quill’s father the King of the Galaxy (has anyone told the Shi’ar?) arrives to
tell Quill that Earth is by law now off limits.
I was amused when the king admitted that he was in fact jealous of his
son’s adventures. We then switch to
following Iron Man as he encounters a Badoon space craft and combat
ensues. At the “last moment” the
Guardians of the Galaxy (Gamora, Quill, Drax, Groot and Rocket Raccoon – yes
Rocket Raccoon!) and help to save the day.
The bad guys blow up their ship knocking out Tony Stark and escape. The comic ends with an attack on the Earth
city of London. The backstory for this
group is not what I remember and I might have to track down some trade
paperback collections to know what is going on in this comic. I have to say I enjoyed the story so far and
hope the quality continues at this level.
