Marvel Universe!
Marvel Universe vs The Avengers final issue. Well that was horrible. As with the previous issues of this mini-series
the title lied. This had a limited
number of Avengers, it was essentially a Hawkeye story, and they did not fight
the Marvel Universe. Heck they barely
fought anyone with actual powers. This
was just another badly written and deceptively marketed zombie story. It is very disappointing when such a
brilliantly advertised title with so much potential is wasted. Bleh.

Ame-Comi Power Girl!
Ame-Comi Girls #4: Power Girl is introduced and she is a
Kryptonian. The story and art seem
mostly set to show off Kara’s breasts and navel. I saw joking about the Power Girl outfit
online and was amused, but unfortunately it was all true this is an issue
written by men with art by guys and it shows they need to get outside more and
talk to real women. It all takes away
from what could have been an interesting story with xenophobic villains, the
arrival of Super Girl and the Manhunters Mech-Police from OA. Then the creators remember this was a tie in
and mentioned Brainiac.

Interface Zero 2.0 Kickstarter
For those interested in Cyberpunk RPG and are tired of waiting on an update for the classic Cyberpunk 2020 game. Interface Zero uses the Savage Worlds rules. I am a backer. Only 2 days left to back!

hummm... can't get the cool video text to show.

Detective Comics!
Batman Detective Comics #16 (Death of the Family) contained
two good stories, they were excellent stories.
The first story really did not have anything to do with the Death of the
Family story. It was just Batman
tracking down the Joker Fan boys and Fan girls.
There is nothing new here and nothing worth tagging as part of the uber
story ark. The second story with the
Emperor Penguin taking over the Penguin’s operation and that story is more
related to Death of the Family. But in
the end I’m tired of buying a comic with two half stories included. Frankly I’m tired of DC being lazy and
stretching crappy material over several comics hoping no one will notice.

Batgirl!
Batgirl #16 (Death of the Family) Meh – I don’t know how the
Joker has time for all this side business.
The story was OK and had some good action, but in the end the story has
to be saved and stretched out so there will be more and more Death of the
Family) comics without end or connection to the main story. So this issue ends up just being a reset to
where we were on page one of this issue.

Bleach v51
I just finished reading Bleach volume 51. The story is really not that much different
from the historic story line. Ichigo has
no real power at least not at the level of those around him. He has to train, train, train and train or he
will die again. He is surrounded by
weird acting, weird looking yet very dangerous people. They all go along assuming that Ichigo knows
what is going on which is annoying as we already went through that story with
the Soul Society. At least with this
story we the readers are seeing some of the back story and some of the stories
not centered on Ichigo. I am still
interested in seeing where this all goes as long as I can borrow a copy of the
book from a friend or the library because I would not pay full book prices for
black and white reprints – if I was going to pay full price I would subscribe
to the magazine.

Batman and Robin!
Batman and Robin #16 (Death of the Family) well that was
interesting, but seriously how long are they going to stretch out the Robin Ah
Ghul VS. Batman dynamic. The Joker did
talk just a little too much but unlike what is happening in other Death of the
Family stories this ending was actually clever.

The Dark Knight!
Legends of the Dark Knight Issue number four contains’ three
short stories. All the stories are
interesting, but none are as good as previous stories in this comic. I guess it is just hard to have a constant
flow of great stories all the time.

Cyberpunk 2077
This interview brings back a lot of memories. Cyberpunk 2020 is a Pen & Paper role playing game I still play today. I am hoping for a new table top game more than another video game. ;-)

Earth 2!
Earth 2 #8: And Steppenwolf was not returned to his world
when the war was won. This new story arc
could be very interesting. He has Wonder
Woman’s Daughter! Named her Fury and turned her against her own world. We shall see how this turns out.

Worlds' Finest!
Worlds’ Finest Huntress and Power Girl number eight was kind
of interesting. But did we need another
comic book that has Batman and Alfred?
Would Batman not be tired at this point?
The story itself is entertaining and it is nice to see Power Girl Strut
her stuff, but I think the low profile thing might be blown after this issue.

Frankenstein!
Frankenstein Agent of S.H.A.D.E. #16 – Well that was weird,
last issue of Frankenstien and party of survivors were on their way to win the
war against his creator and the rot plague.
This issue was a totally different story as if the last issue had not
happened. I hate when this happens. The comic itself was entertaining and well
written. It tells the story of when
secret agencies collide, good stuff.

Missing Dial H
I seem to have fallen behind with this comic, Dial H, and
checking my collection I actually have missed issue six and seven. I have issue eight and seem to have come into
the story part way again. It is an
interesting story and I hope I can find the missing issues without spending a
fortune.

Mars Attacks!!
Mars Attacks Kiss – well that was different. If you love KISS you will love the comic
otherwise it was just a fun read. Enjoy!
Mars Attacks the Real Ghostbusters was entertaining. This issue is another one where if you like
the style of the Real Ghostbusters you will like this story. It is different and yet still has ghosts and
Martians.

Avengers Plus X-men
A+X issue #3 was not nearly as good as previous issues. Part one was the #*#&&#$ Black
Panther and Storm. Apparently they got
married at one time and this was the post-divorce all talking story. The backup story was Hawkeye and Gambit
fighting over a girl, not an original story at all. They had to save an actress from what looked
like a Murloc from World of Warcraft.
The good guys win the end. Since
both characters normally have great dialog (especially Hawkeye in his own book)
but in this story the witty banter was very flat. It just added to the disappointment in this
issue of A+X.

X-treme X-Men
X-treme X-men #8: While entertaining is more confusing than
interesting and not in the normal way.
When the reader is left wishing it was a My Little Pony Xavier that
needed dealing with. The best part of
the description of the character Howlett or Wolverine meets Teddy Roosevelt
(now that is comedy).

The New Avengers!
The New Avengers #1: I am not really a fan of the Super Hero
Illuminati that has been created by Marvel Comics to just futz up the
continuity of so many stories. I do not
like how suddenly Reed Richards and Doctor Strange would even consider such a
thing, becoming evil. But this book
actually followed the Black Panther into a weird story of aliens and other worlds
and it interest me and I need to find issue #2 to see if things remain
interesting or go stupid.

Captain America!
Captain America #2: I don’t know who thought this would be a
good story line. But when the first
words on the second page after the summary of the first issue are “One Year
Later” it is fairly certain that the story is going to be stupid and suck. This story is disrespectful to the character,
the reader and the history of Captain America and all he stands for. The writer, the artists, the editors and
Disney itself should be a shamed of what they have done.
Well with Captain American & Black Widow 640 the
inter-dimensional other world adventure is finally over. It would have been nice to see a little more
of the other heroes they found at work.
But oh well. At least this story
is over and Captain America is free to be trapped in another dimension for at
least a year.

Thor!!
Thor God of Thunder #3: The story continues to unfold. Nothing really interesting this issue, we get
to see Thor starting to mature a bit and try to find other missing gods. But it seems he did badly when trying to
alert other gods to the problem at hand.
To be continued…

Indestructible Hulk!
Indestructible Hulk #2: And now for Tony Stark / Iron Man to
stick his nose into the situation and make it worse. Well Iron Man made it entertaining anyway,
this Tony Star is not the good guy movie guy.
This Tony Stark is the one who had people killed and essentially took
over the Super Hero world for his own power grab. So needless to say I enjoyed seeing Hulk
Smash! I am still liking this comic I
hope they keep up the good work.

Thunderbolts!
Thunderbolts #2: This issue was entertaining as normal, but
Deadpool seems a little restrained and that is disappointing. There is also the issue that the story is
told out of order and now that might be fine when reading the trade paperback
version of the comic in a few years. But
right now that kind of story telling is just annoying.

Captain Marvel!
Captain Marvel #8 staring two that right two different
Captain’s Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau team up again to fight a giant
robot. The dialog was nice and
entertaining, sharp and witty. The story
was a little silly but it is a super hero comic book so no loss there, the
giant robot was supposedly the remains of an Avengers battle but no issue
reference was given. I hope that the
comic can continue with this quality.

Comics!
FF #2 was fun, but not sure how long I will read this
book. It is literarily a filler series
while the “real” Fantastic Four is off having an adventure.
Morbius the Living Vampire #1: Start of a New Book to one of Marvels 2nd stringers. This issue was good a bit of noir first person narrative. But not so sure I want to follow another guy who can get taken down by a bunch of regular thugs.

Avengers!
Avengers #2: Frankly this is story is stupid. I know it is a comic book, but seriously it
is like reading the whiny X-men. I’m
going to stop reading this before I watch a once grand comic book not just
destroyed but disgraced.
AA Avengers Academy Murder World #2; yeah that still stocks
and Walt Disney Company should be so proud of their writers killing
children. Good job.
